The Logo
The Hebrew letter "Alef" takes center stage in the logo, symbolizing unity, purity, and tradition. It is the first letter of "Elul," representing the phrase “I am for you and you are for me”, a powerful expression of connection. It also begins the word "organic," linking the concept of purity in nature to the essence of the logo.
The design is inspired by the ancient Phoenician form of Alef, with the left line resembling a ram’s horn, or "shofar," a key symbol in Jewish culture. The shofar is said to herald the arrival of the Messiah, and its sound is believed to represent the purest voice—one untainted by the physical traits of human speech, a metaphor for the unadulterated quality of organic wine, free from chemicals, pesticides, and additives.
The thinner lines in the logo represent a typographic map, symbolizing the historic vineyards of the Judean foothills—long known for their grape cultivation, from the time of the Second Temple to the biblical prophet Amos, and continuing today with Elul Organic Vineyards. These vineyards embrace biodynamic and sustainable practices, rooted in a rich legacy of purity in both agriculture and spirit.

Our Story
Nestled in the scenic landscapes of Israel, the Elul Vineyard is a testament to the journey of Moshe Elul, a dedicated wine enthusiast with deep roots in agriculture. Born and raised in Rehoboth, Israel, Moshe's formative years at Mikvah Israel instilled in him a profound appreciation for the land and its potential. Following a decade of commendable service as a decorated officer in the Israeli army, he ventured to America, where he married Cindy Gould and embraced a successful career in real estate while raising four wonderful children. Yet, the call of his homeland and the passion for agriculture remained etched in his heart, prompting his return to Israel to fulfill a lifelong dream.
Moshe began his winemaking journey in Brooklyn, New York, where he experimented with different wines using grapes sourced from all corners of the globe. However, upon returning to Israel, he envisioned cultivating his own grapes that embodied his personal philosophy. This vision led to the establishment of the Elul Vineyard, where he embraced biodynamic and organic farming principles. By prioritizing the natural harmony of the vineyard ecosystem and allowing the grapes to take center stage, Moshe has cultivated a space where imagination and sustainability flourish. Today, Elul Vineyard opens its doors to a select community of likeminded individuals who cherish quality wine, the beauty of nature, and a commitment to nurturing both the environment and local community.
